Townshend Village Hall is a small friendly space with great facilities and plenty of parking

The hall was originally a Methodist chapel built in the early 19th century. When the larger chapel was completed across the road in 1871, it was retained as a sunday school and meeting room.

The village residents raised funds to buy the building in the 1990s and then successfully gained a Heritage Lottery funding grant to renovate and modernise the building.  At the same time a charity was established to run and own the building with the remit to provide a public space for the local area.  Building and repair works were completed in the early 2000s and the hall officially opened by the Lord Lieutenant Lady Mary Holborow in March 2004.
